Rhapsody of the seas

Classic Elegance

There are experiences that transform the way we look at the sea. That's how our journey aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas, an elegant cruise ship from Royal Caribbean International allowed us to discover, from the inside, the workings of one of the world's most prestigious fleets. During an exclusive fam tour for media and tourism professionals, we sailed from Florida to Panama. In just four days, the itinerary took us to explore destinations with turquoise waters and clear skies, confirming that the Caribbean's charm remains inexhaustible.

Rhapsody of the Seas captivates at first sight. With spacious decks inviting you to contemplate the horizon, pools, jacuzzis, terraces, and panoramic lounges, every corner of the ship combines classic elegance with modern comfort. Its luminous atriums, adorned with artwork and glass structures, create an atmosphere where relaxation and sophistication go hand in hand.

The experience reached its most interesting point when we entered the ship's main kitchens, a true beating heart. There, among aromas and metallic sounds, we observed hundreds of chefs working in perfect synchrony. Every dish, every freshly baked bread, every sauce prepared from scratch, is part of a culinary machine that never stops, not even on the high seas.

Guided by one of Royal Caribbean's head chefs, we discovered the secrets that make this daily gastronomic spectacle possible, cooking while the ship moves and planning every detail with Swiss watch precision.

Built in 1997 under the Bahamas flag, Rhapsody of the Seas belongs to Royal Caribbean's distinguished Vision Class. At 279 meters in length, with 11 decks and capacity for 2,400 passengers, it combines timeless design with modern technology. Its ample public spaces, the windows that flood each deck with natural light, and its warm décor make it a sea classic that maintains its charm intact.

The onboard culinary offering is as diverse as the destinations it visits. The main dining room presents international cuisine with rotating menus that surprise daily, while the Windjammer Café offers a more casual experience, ideal for those who enjoy variety and freshness. Among the specialty restaurants, Chops Grille stands out, a premium steakhouse with select cuts, and Izumi, which transports you to Asia with its authentic sushi and oriental dishes.

Based in Miami, Royal Caribbean International has been a global leader in innovation and service since 1968. Its fleet exceeds 27 active ships, including the imposing vessels of the Oasis Class, true floating cities with attractions ranging from surf simulators to international-level theatrical shows. The company is characterized by creating unique experiences that combine technology, entertainment, and impeccable service.

Beyond the facilities or gastronomy, what truly distinguishes Royal Caribbean is its people. The international crew, coming from dozens of countries, offers warm, attentive, and professional service. It's the personal details, the smiles, and the memory of each preference that transforms a simple trip into an unforgettable experience.

Rhapsody of the Seas offers itineraries primarily in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, depending on the season. In the Western and Southern Caribbean, it departs from Tampa (Florida) or San Juan (Puerto Rico), with stops at destinations like Cozumel, Roatán, Belize, St. Maarten, Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire. In summer, it sails the Eastern Mediterranean from Athens (Greece) to islands and ports such as Santorini, Mykonos, Istanbul, Kusadasi, and Haifa (Israel), combining Caribbean voyages in winter and Mediterranean cruises in summer, ideal for those seeking warm climates and cultural experiences.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to Lucas Bueno from Royal Caribbean and Silvina Fuentes from Saf Entertainment, who made the connection between MIAMIX and Royal Caribbean possible.
